Dog sledding Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean

Live the Adventure of a Lifetime in the White Winter!

Dog Sledding

For a unique dog sledding expedition, plan your stay at POURVOIRIE HOMAMO, located in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region, in a remote wilderness area once accessible only by seaplane.

In winter, to reach the outfitter from the parking area, you’ll travel 15 to 25 km through the forest by dog sled or snowmobile (depending on the package). You’ll be instantly immersed in a vast, snow-covered landscape.

You can also enjoy ice fishing, warm meals, relaxing by the wood stove in your cabin, snowshoeing, and backcountry cross-country skiing. Make your dream a reality today!

Lodging & Dog Sledding Package

We offer packages that include a minimum three-night stay, during which you will travel 15 to 25 km by dog sled to reach the outfitter, embark on ice fishing expeditions by dog sled, enjoy lunch prepared over a fire by your guide, and return to your cabin by sled in the evening.

You can also choose to arrive at the outfitter by snowmobile (with driver) and then take a 10 km dog sled ride to a cabin where you’ll enjoy a meal and ice fishing. Meals and/or meal preparation are available upon request (American Plan).

Learn to Drive a Dog Sled

Dreaming of driving your own dog sled? It’s possible! With guidance from a professional, you’ll learn how to do it. Prefer to sit back and enjoy the ride? That’s also an option!

Usually, one person sits in the sled (or two children), while another drives by holding the reins. Driving a sled involves running behind it, pushing with one leg, and helping the dogs on hills—it’s a great cardio and strength workout!

Of course, an experienced guide will teach you how to drive the sled like a real musher! POURVOIRIE HOMAMO partners with LES BALADES SOLO, the leading dog sledding company in the region. Their pack of 70 dogs lives peacefully in the mountains, just waiting for your call to embark on an adventure.

To stay warm during the activity, dress appropriately: winter coat, insulated boots, warm socks, thermal underwear, mittens, hat, and neck warmer or scarf. Snow pants are highly recommended!
