Looking for where to go ice fishing in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region? Come live the experience deep in the wild at Lac Itomamo, nestled in the heart of the mountains at POURVOIRIE HOMAMO!

With our Ice Fishing & Lodging Package (minimum 3-night stay in one of our 2 log cabins), you’ll have full-time access to numerous lakes for ice fishing.

Snowmobiling enthusiasts can also combine their expeditions with ice fishing (some lakes require a guide) while exploring the outfitter’s vast 129 km² territory. The largest lake, located in the heart of the mountains, spans 14 km²!

A Unique Adventure

After riding nearly 20 km by snowmobile to reach the outfitter, you'll get settled into your cabin and then set off for an ice fishing expedition. Enjoy your brook trout lunch prepared over a small fire by your guide right on the lake! You'll continue fishing into the afternoon before returning to your cabin by snowmobile before sunset.

You’ll also have access to all other activities: backcountry skiing, snowshoeing, wildlife observation, and more. The snowy wilderness of the territory is a true winter playground! In the evening, unwind by an outdoor campfire and admire the starry sky…

Ice Fishing at POURVOIRIE HOMAMO

The many lakes at our outfitter are filled with pure, native brook trout (four distinct genetic lines). There has been no stocking or hatchery introduction. These trout come from four large productive rivers, and the main lake, Lac Itomamo, is the second-largest in the region, with a circumference of nearly 14 km and depths exceeding 220 feet.

Average trout size ranges between 10 and 12 inches, with many reaching 4 pounds, and some over 5 pounds! One brook trout caught here even weighed nearly 10 pounds!

Fishing limit: 20 trout per permit (different limits may apply for smaller lakes), not including trout consumed on-site. On average, 95% of our guests leave with their full quota of brook trout.

You can drill your own ice hole using a provided tool, or a guide can do it for you.
